MORE: SHOULD I HIRE A VA?

Can you clockify it? Of course. Clockify will probably make its way into becoming a generic word for a software category that has many stars.

At She’s A Given, we are using time-clocking software to enhance productivity and efficiency. Get on the bandwagon now.

Making the most of your time as a startup business or small business is essential.

The proper time tracking software allows you to monitor hours while also providing add-ons that could be important to your business, like GPS tracking, overtime alerts, or even productivity and invoicing tools.

We’ve compiled three software options that we think will be beneficial to any startup or small business.

Let’s dive in:

Clockify

One of our top favorite time-clocking apps. Clockify has been rated the best overall free time tracking software. Its interface is intuitive and user-friendly.

The free version also comes with web, desktop, and mobile apps for convenient use by your team. PTO options are not available in Clockify yet.

However, a premium upgrade gives you access to GPS tracking invoicing, and budget comparisons.

Overall, Clockify is affordable and efficient. Most employers are pleased with its price and features (including reporting features).

Plus, customer support is available by phone, email, and chat.

Hubstaff

Hubstaff is great for companies that are looking to monitor employees and their productivity, especially if those employees are remote or working in the field.

Hubstaff offers GPS and a geofencing tracker, as well as web, desktop and mobile apps. It also has PTO tracking options.

As far as pricing goes, the free version is for one user, so you’ll have to upgrade to a plan based upon your staffing needs.

Most employers who use Hubstaff are happy with access to employee monitoring, customized reporting and the option to schedule to send yourself or clients reports.

TMetric

One of our top boutique apps for time-tracking. TMetric is great for startups with five or fewer users that need strong invoicing options.

The company offers offline tracking, PTO and leave monitoring, and multiple currencies for invoicing. Since this software is designed for small startups, there is limited mobile app functionality, as well as limited scheduling and productivity tools.

However, the free version comes with basic time tracking, flexible reporting, and an unlimited number of projects and clients. Depending on your business needs, you can upgrade to have task management features and integrations with Quickbooks, Gitlab, and Redmine.

All three of these time-tracking options offer the basic functions within a fair price point to accommodate most startups/businesses and their budgets.

Your decision will come down to the details of what you need and/or want to allow your business to be efficient in your time tracking.

We don’t think you can go wrong with any of these tools! Plus, you can always start with free versions and upgrade as needed.

  • Yes, Clockify is completely free to use. There is a free version of the software available for both personal and business use.

  • The purpose of time tracking software is to help businesses and individuals better manage time and resources. It can help in task management, project tracking, budgeting, and more. Time tracking software can provide accurate data to help inform decisions and improve productivity.
